Mr. Daniel McEvilly - Trust SENDco Lead has been shortlisted in the Special Education Needs category of the Worcestershire Education Awards 2023
The award shines a spotlight on those who continue to make a difference in the field of education. They seek to reward those members of the teaching and education sector for their hard work both in the classroom and behind the scenes.
This prestigious scheme recognises the achievements, passion and dedication of those involved in all kinds of education – from nurseries to primary and secondary schools as well as colleges and training schemes.
The awards ceremony is set to take place on the evening of Thursday 20th April.

The host for the evening is Julian Wharam. Julian is a Radio Presenter, DJ, Teacher and teacher trainer. Julian decided by the tender age of 12 that he wanted to be a DJ and radio presenter (despite the advice of his teachers to “get a proper job”!) and he made sure that he did all he could to make those dreams come true.
Live performance has always been in Julian’s blood and has presented for some of the most successful radio stations in the UK, including Radio Wyvern in Worcestershire, Heart and BRMB in Birmingham, Smooth in Newcastle and Manchester, plus more in Cardiff (Red Dragon (now Capital) and Real Radio) and Leeds (Radio Aire, now Greatest Hits Radio).
ulian is proud to have interviewed and dined-out with some of the biggest music and Hollywood stars around (all in the name of coming up with great content). Whether sharing a cigar with Tom Jones, partying at a Kylie album launch, dining out with Justin Timberlake, interviewing Wet Wet Wet or shooting pool with Blur, Julian considers these experiences an absolute thrill. Hosting ‘Party in the Park’ in Leeds or the ‘Welsh Awards’ in Cardiff in front of huge crowds has been a definite highlight!
Julian never would have predicted that by the age of 30 he would also be a high school teacher (Guardian Teacher of the Year nominee), a teacher-trainer and an event host; Julian finds that these roles are remarkably similar to being a radio presenter and DJ in so many ways!
